Schalk Pienaar Safaris was born from a lifelong passion for hunting, the Namibian wilderness and the adventure of the African bush.

I am a Namibian Professional Hunter, and since becoming a professional hunter in 2006, I have had the privilege of guiding hunters from around the world across some of Namibia’s most beautiful and challenging landscapes.

Over the years, hunting has taken me to many corners of Africa and introduced me to people, places and hunting traditions far beyond Namibia. But one thing has never changed: I still love being in the bush, and I still get excited about the hunt.

That passion is at the heart of SP Safaris.

We deliberately keep our operation small.

We are not interested in becoming a large, commercial hunting outfit where clients become numbers and hunts become a production line. We believe that a great safari should be personal, private and built around the individual hunter.

When you hunt with us, you are not simply booking a package. We take the time to understand what you want from your safari—whether that is pursuing a particular species, experiencing challenging walk-and-stalk hunting, introducing your family to Africa, or simply spending time in the wilderness.

Your hunt should be your own.

That philosophy is why we limit the number of clients we take each season. It allows us to give every safari the time, attention and personal involvement it deserves.

We believe strongly in fair chase, ethical hunting and responsible wildlife management. As hunters and landowners, we have a responsibility to look after the wildlife and habitat that make these experiences possible.

In Namibia, hunting is part of a much bigger conservation story. When wildlife has value, there is an incentive to protect it, preserve its habitat and manage populations responsibly. We believe in that model and are proud to be part of it.

We don’t believe in simply offering hunts in as many countries as possible.
