The great African bull
Few animals command the respect of a Cape Buffalo. A mature bull is immensely powerful, heavily built and can weigh more than 1,500 lbs, standing approximately 5–5½ feet at the shoulder.
Older bulls develop the characteristic heavy boss across the forehead and often become solitary animals known as dagga boys. A genuinely old trophy bull can be 12 years old or more.
Hunting the Buffalo
Buffalo hunting is a close-range, physical African hunting experience. Tracking an old bull through thick bush demands concentration, patience and excellent teamwork.
The moment you finally stand behind your rifle looking at a mature buffalo bull is one that every dangerous-game hunter remembers.
