The elegant antelope of the bushveld
The Common Impala is one of Africa's most graceful and widespread antelope. Rams are easily recognized by their lyre-shaped horns and elegant build.
A mature ram stands approximately 3 feet at the shoulder and weighs around 120–165 lbs.
Hunting the Impala
Impala are extremely alert and often move through open woodland in herds. Picking out a mature ram and approaching without alarming the herd makes for a rewarding stalk.
They may be common, but hunting a mature impala properly still requires good fieldcraft.
