The world's fastest land animal
The Cheetah is built for speed. Its streamlined body, long legs and flexible spine allow it to reach extraordinary speeds over short distances.
A mature cheetah stands around 2½–3 feet at the shoulder and weighs approximately 80–140 lbs.
Hunting the Cheetah
Cheetah hunting presents a very different challenge from hunting most African predators. The open terrain makes concealment difficult, and finding a mature animal requires careful glassing and patient observation.
The sight of a cheetah moving effortlessly across the Kalahari is one of the great wildlife experiences Namibia offers.
