The striking plains antelope
The Blesbok is instantly recognizable by the broad white blaze across its face and its beautifully contrasting brown-and-white coat.
A mature animal stands approximately 3½ feet at the shoulder and weighs around 150–200 lbs.
Hunting the Blesbok
Blesbok are primarily grazers and often inhabit open plains where their excellent eyesight makes a close approach difficult.
A hunt can involve long-range glassing followed by a careful stalk across exposed ground—a classic plains-game challenge.
